People "without" - in Pictures

Just re-posting the posts.  Worth a look

This morning I found this post on Mark’s blog over at 248am and had to share it.
The pictures were taken by renowned Photographer Greg Constantine who started working on his project ‘Nowhere People’ in 2005. The series currently featured at Aljazeera.com focuses on the Stateless (bidoon) of Kuwait. I’m hoping the brilliant work by Greg will help to bring more international attention to their cause and the gross violation of human rights.

Most Bedouns (people without) are not actually who they say they are. They usually come from the surrounding countries hoping to gain Kuwait citizenship. They throw away all of their documents from their original country. This has created a problem for the real Bedouns.

Its really sad how long its been going on, and every election they are used as pawns by many of the MP's "WE WILL SOLVE THE BEDOON ISSUE!" and once they get elected all they care about is how much money they can pocket, and how many companies they can open and get governmental contracts.

I'm sorry but I am SICK of hearing (reading) the argument... "Most Bedouns are not actually who they say they are." The Government has the DNA to prove who they are. Do something - anything. Make a move to resolve it. Grant those who are entitled their rights.

Desert Girl they did get their Iraqi citizenship from the Iraqi government and when they tried to send them back they started to use their "Wasta" to stay in the country and continue with the lie. The sad thing is some of them are actual Iraqi soldiers from the occupation that blended in with Kuwaiti citizen during the American attack on Feb. 1991.

Anonymous 3:27 - Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I believe that the government knows WHO is entitled to nationality and who is not. I believe that those who are entitled to it, should be granted nationality.
